I put a competition trigger in my carry gun and it was way too light for defensive use. I was paranoid I'd have a negligent discharge under stress and ended up swapping it back to stock. Competition and carry have different requirements..I forgot that and made my gun less safe for its actual purpose

That’s a great lesson learned. It’s easy to chase performance but safety matter way more on a carry gun than competition gains.

Competition parts can be great but carry guns really need to stay predictable and stress‑proof above everything else.

Good decision. God forbid, worst case scenario you have to use that firearm against someone. The lawyers will have "experts" looking at your firearm with a microscope and if they find anything other than stock you will be defending yourself against all sorts of accusations.

I once changed the sights on my carry gun because they looked cool. They didn't fit well and were distracting when I was stressed. I learned that being able to depend on something and being familiar with it is better than any upgrade.
