Are any of reloading heavy for caliber 22-250 REM? I’ve picked up a new to me 22-250 with a 1 in 8” twist 22” Bartline barrel model 700 Remington donor action in a Stocky’s carbon fiber stock but so far it shoots lights out. I tried some Barnes 70 gr tsx bullets. According to the published data they running just north of 3400fps I’ve got to get my chronograph out to check that part out. I’m wanting to try some heavier maybe up to 80 grain Hornaday eldx bullets for deer. I would appreciate any help with this if yall have any suggestions on powder or other bullets. I have plenty of RL17,RL16,H4350,Varget and AA2700 Thanks in advance and I pray that y’all all have a blessed weekend 🙏🙏

That’s a good setup, especially with the 1:8 twist. I’d lean toward RL16 or H4350 for the heavier bullets and let the chronograph guide you once you start tuning.

I’d focus more on what the rifle stabilizes consistently than chasing the heaviest bullet. Those mid-70 grain options usually end up being the most reliable for that twist.

I got some 75gr Midsouth bullets that I’ve loaded h4350 and RL16 I’m going to try next if they do well at 100yds then we’ll see how they do at 300yds I can do that from my porch plus some. That should give them enough room to ye or ya at that distance if still stable at that then the real fun begins

The RL17 with 70s worked really well for me in a similar setup. Haven’t tried 80 grain yet, but I’d start with H4350 and take it slow.

I’ve loaded some 75gr tipped MidSouth bullets with H4350 and RL16. RL17 and AA2700 will be next
