I got a tonneau cover two years ago and it's been worth every penny. I should've bought one way sooner. What truck bed accessory or tool has been your best purchase?

I think my cab-high shell. Allows more gear than just a cover. Gear doesn't necessarily need to be tied down (it's not going to fly out, in other words), and you can also sleep in there.

While I have a tonneau cover on two of my trucks, I believe the best addition has been the liners. I have both the attachable type and the spray in liner. Just love having those.

Mine came with a coated bed and I do like it. I added a hide away step under one end of the bumper. It wouldn't have meant a thing to me when I was a younger man, but at about 62, I started having a hard time crawling in and out of the truck bed. The step isn't used a lot, but it has proven handy when I need it.

As for tailgate ladders, this is the best one I've found, especially if you're a bigger guy. It swings up and stores on the tailgate, but is also removable without tools if you need to take it off. Step Daddy Ladder. Somehow, I misplaced mine when I moved a couple of years ago. I need to dig around in the storage over at my son's house (which is where I think it ended up, as we stored some stuff over there while our house was being built), and find it again.
