Best 9mm ammo for reloading in Tennesse? What's your top recipe for self-defense loads that meet local range standards? Looking for reliable components and tips for consistent performance.

Hey, I stick to straightforward reloading techniques and enjoy the range, but I'd like to learn from you all

I also stick with new or once fired brass, reliable primers, and Speer or Hornady bullets while always using published load data. Start light with a reputable powder, work up charges on a chronograph, and double check that your final load follows local range rules and carry requirements.

Personally, I trust Speer and Hornady for consistent performance so I feel confident using them for both range days and carry

It's been 'Many Moons' since I've done reloading. But the above advice from 'Jamie' is spot on. Those were the 'Rules in my Book' for reloading. Never had a problem...BUT !! I never 'carried' with 'reloaded' ammo in my 9mm.. It was 'Right out of the box' ammo. The reloads were just for the range shooting.

My choice of handgun bullets to reload are Hornady, Berry's, & Xtreme. I do load all my ammo for target work, hunting, & carry and have for 50 odd years. My favorite bullet in the 9MM calibers is 124/125gr whether it's in my 9x19, 38Spec, 357M, 38Super, or 9x23Win for my use I prefer it over the other weights.
