I spend half of each year in Blessed TN and the other half in Blessed Texas! Texas is too hot for this old codger during the summer. THIS SUMMER, Tennessee is TOO HOT also!

We've been doing this back and forth for a dozen years, so I know this year is not normal.

We have seven grandchildren in Texas, so Moma isn't moving full time yet.

I hope to learn some things here. Particularly, I like to chase (but rarely catch) muskies. Any advice appreciated. richg99

Welcome to the forum from Western Tennessee (Fayette County).
And yes, it has been "a tad bit" warm this year, but really not much more than in Texas - IMO.
Where are those grandchildren located? As you're aware - Texas is a BIG state! When I lived there and planned a vacation, my sons always asked, "how many motels it was gonna take to get where we were going!" LOL!
I routinely return to North Central (Bowie area) Texas every year for a week's worth of whitetail & hog hunting with longtime friend and his family. When I grew up on the farm (north of Dallas) there weren't any deer or feral pigs in that area, but that was +60 years ago!

Well, I'm 85 so we may be close in age! The "main house" (Ha Ha ) is in the very outskirts of Houston, near Spring, if you know that area at all. Two kids (and five grandchildren are in Spring, within 5 miles of our place.) The other son is in Lewisville near Dallas, along with the remaining two Grandkids.

Our grandkids are quickly moving out. Most to other States, due to school(s).

Someday soon, we will only have our own kids actually living in TX. That might be the spring to move us full-time here (Crossville area). We are on the Cumberland Plateau, so we are about 6/8 degrees cooler all Summer than most every other big city in TN. That may be the only reason I'm still here.

I hate the heat and humidity, ingrained in me by living 45 years in Houston! When I worked, I had an air-conditioned office. As a retiree, no such luck! Ha ha

I never shot a pig, but would love to, but I only have shotguns. I do a lot of Skeet/Trap/Wobble Trap and some Sporting Clay shooting. Ever try it? R
