Hey everyone! I've been thinking about what I should keep by my bedside for home defense. What's your go-to firearm for those late-night 'just in case' moments? Do you use a safe or have any specific accessories like lights?

Anything relatively small and easy to pick up.
This kind of thing is really not going to matter if the time comes. Anything that works reliably.
Get a small revolver or Glock and learn how to use it so you can pick it up and shoot quickly if you ever need it.
I've seen online conversations where people seem to obsess about this stuff.
Anything small and light that works if you ever need it, which you very probably won't.
Guy will run as soon as you fire a shot and tell him to get out or he will shoot back.

I have two by the bed. A 4" 686 and a Full size M&P 40. I don't have any kids in the house so having multiple guns accessible isn't an issue. The 686 is the original point & click interface that doesn't require any knowledge of controls.

I was trained not to use a weapon light, so I have small high power Fenix flashlights in various places.

My best security feature is 100 lb dog that sleeps at the foot of my bed.

Handgun: Glock 19, night sights, Olight PL-3 Valkyrie, 3-15 rnd mags, and 1 - 33 rnd mag., my EDC also resides on the nightstand when the day is done.

Rifle: Springfield Saint w/Aimpoint Pro Patrol Rifle Optic Red Dot, and 4 - 30 rnd mags.
