As jdlii described, if you REALLY want to clean to bright metal Butch's to get out the Carbon and JB Paste with VFG pellets to get out the copper (I mix with Kriol). (There are 2 types of JB, 1 is for cleaning & the other is for polishing)
For MY firearms I only use this process when brand new, unknown (new to me) or if accuracy opens up. Be patient, use a good bore guide & treat the entire length of the bore to the same amount of strokes. JB Bore Paste is an abrasive lapping compound and is "lapping" the lands & the edges. I want "clean" not "rounded". Clean afterwards with Butch's, dry patch clear, Oil patch to coat & leave light Oil before putting up.
