Well I finally got myself a Shield Plus! I wanted to find the one I wanted that also came in the bundle with the 6 mags and range bag but that was a no-go. My criteria for the gun itself were optics ready and factory night sights, I could find the bundles with optics ready but no night sights, or, night sights but not optics ready...

I found the one I wanted and it came with the 10 round and 13 round mags, if I want more magazines I can easily get them. To be honest I will probably only pick up one more 13 round mag for the pistol.

I ordered it through RK Guns and it only took two days to show up, out the door it was $503.66, I'm good with that.

I had it one my nightstand last night (woke up yet again at 3AM) and looked over at the sights, those might just be the brightest night sights I've had on any pistol! 👍

It'll be a few days before I get the chance to shoot it but it feels a lot better in my big old hands than my P365 does, may even be able to shoot it better with that!

I love the Shield Plus! Thousands of rounds and never a problem with any ammo I can get my hands on! I was never attracted to that model until I picked one up a few years ago and actually held it in my hand. I didn't want to let go...

Got it out and did some shootin' today! 👍

Went through 250 rounds and not a hitch, the Shield Plus ran flawlessly! I shot 100 rounds of 115g FMJ, 100 rounds of 124g FMJ, 25 rounds of 124g Federal HST, and 25 rounds of 147g Federal Hi Shok, this pistol will devoir whatever you want to feed it.

We (a buddy was with me) were shooting steel at about 20 & 25 yards. The pistol seemed to be shooting right to the point of aim with the sights. Three of the bullets/weights shot to point of aim, the 115 grain FMJ shot just a tad bit lower.

I only used the 13 round mag for the shooting we did, you can get a full grip on it and it feels good. The felt recoil was really light and manageable.

The trigger is really great! You have some take-up and hit a wall, after that if feels like it's in the neighborhood of 5~5 1/2 pounds (to be totally honest though my finger hasn't been calibrated in years! 😂), the reset is very short and tactile, definitely helped with quick follow-up shots...

The sights are nice, the red front was easy to pick up out there today. Judging by looking at the night sights in the wee hours of the morning I gotta say they may be the brightest ones on any of my other pistols.

I've not been an optic guy on a handgun so far, but I am considering putting a Viridian RFX-15 Micro Reflex Green Dot sight on this pistol.

Yeah, I'm a happy camper with this one! 👍😊

Good pickup, Shield Plus usually surprises people once it hits the range especially in bigger hands.

The new green dot is mounted, guys I really like it so far! 👍

I installed a Osight SE green dot optic on it a few days back, it'll take some getting used to but so far I think it was a great choice!

Mounting was straight-forward, no issues. The sight comes with the battery, 4 sets of screws (with the dry type factory blue Loctite already on them) of different pitch to fit I guess anything, an extra screw of each size, and extra battery drawer screw, a microfiber cloth, and a tool for mounting and adjustment! 👍

I didn't go with that Viridian because you must remove the optic from the pistol just to change the battery...

Co-witnessing isn't a problem with this sight, you can see the factory sights as if the optic isn't mounted.

The green dot is very clear (even with astigmatism) and easy to pick up quickly. I pretty much go for the fixed sights and the dot shows up, not really having to hunt for it. 😊

It's a closed-emitter so it will be easy to clean, digging around with a Q-tip to clean an open-emitter sounds like a pain...

Looks respectable at 20 yards! (please disregard the elite targets I use!) 😂

That’s interesting setup especially the closed emitter and battery design. How’s the dot holding up under recoil so far?

Ive got the same pistol in iron sights. I think you'll be really happy with it. Yours looks like a clean set up. I really like red dots - they have become a game changer for me. My old eyes can see the red dots much easier than the iron sights. Hoping you enjoy your Smith as much as I enjoy mine. I haven't put 500 rounds through mine yet but since I've been using it - no hang ups, no misfeeds.

Is that 10 rounds? That’s some nice shooting at 20yds off hand very impressive

You ever consider putting an optic on it that Osight seems to be a solid choice to consider. I watched so much stuff on Youtube about different optics it seemed almost overwhelming... The things I really like about it is that it's a direct mount on the Shield Plus (no adapter plate necessary), it has a battery tray so I don't have to unmount it just to change the battery, it's a closed optic, and the green dot is very crisp, even with my astigmatism. They also have a lifetime warranty! 😊

Ill take another look but I could have sworn, mine was not optics ready ... The Osight sounds like and looks like a solid choice - but I have a spare Holosun ready to go on it if it is optics ready.
I have been looking at the price of a new slide or having a local gunsmith mill the slide. S&W was just recently running a "special" on them -
I'm not in too big of a hurry - I have a Sig with a romeo red dot on it that I take to the range. The M&P shield is a daily carry, and Ive figured if I ever have to pull it - it would be point blank shooting anyway. I am sold on red dots.
