I'm talking about those 3am road trip stops. Personally, I think gas station hot dogs get too much hate. They're not good but they hit different at midnight. What's your go-to gas station grab? Taquitos? Pizza? Those sketchy burgers under the heat lamp? Rank your top three...

Late-night taquitos are always a good choice. Hot dogs can be hit or miss, depending. Pizza is a gamble. Taquitos are predictable and that's what matters at 3 AM.

No one mentioned sardines. Really, I have tried all of the above. My wife says I could live off of gas station food. Of course that is an exaggeration but my choice is determined partly by the weather. If it is cold - I'll look for something warm like a corn-dog, a hot-dog, a Taquito or what ever is on the hot rollers or the hot drawer beneath the rollers. If it its warm outside - I prefer the Vienna sausage with saltines. (Make mine hot and spicy as well). I keep some in the pantry - next to the Tabasco sauce and saltines. With all this said - I'm a sucker for Wendy's chili.
