Finally found a Ruger 10/22, the regular wooden stock version but with the a 1/2"-28 threaded barrel. The fancier ones with the Magpul stocks & such are easy to find, this one really wasn't, been looking for a couple of months. Found it, of all places, Academy Sports for $299. 👍

If it ever warms up I'll thread a can on it and go play! 👍😂

Its got my Banish 22 suppressor on it now. I just went out on the back porch and ran two mags into a can I threw out there in the back yard, it ran great even with some CCI subsonic ammo. I can't say that all 20 hit that can but it sure does look like it, hard to really tell as ripped up as it was...but I did ruin its day! 😂

Nice looking rifle !

The trigger on the rifle, although useable, leaves something to be desired. I don't have a trigger pull gauge but through years of trigger discipline I can say that this is somewhere between 6 1/2 to 8 pounds, not very conducive for great accuracy. There is a lot of grit to it, already took it out and cleaned and oiled, made no difference. It also is somewhat spongy at the break....

I have one of the Ruger BX triggers on the way to rectify this. From what I've read and been told, these repeatedly break somewhere between 2 and 2 1/2 pounds...or a little less...

I've had the rifle for a whole two days...hopefully I'm not headed down a rabbit hole here...yeah..! 😂

It is the first time in many decades that I don’t have a Ruger 10/22 in the house. It served me well. I really didn’t warm up to my last one. The plastic stock was uncomfortable to me. Accuracy was “meh” and just never impressed me. I sold it and bought a bolt action CZ 457. If I bought another Ruger, I would go with a wood stock.

Bought my 1st 10/22 in May or June of 1968 for $54.95 +tax at our local Sears & Roebuck store. I still have her and she gets exercised semi-regularly. Her favorite ammo was/is the Federal bulk pack 36 gr. HP and she still perforate a squirrel's head out to 50 yds. (from a good rest) if I do my part. Photo of the most recent Ruger Range Day is attached.
