I used to freak out and buy a ton of primers before winter, especially when there were shortages. But lately, I try to just keep a good amount all year round so I don't have to worry. For now, i just stock up for the season.
Shortages in the recent past caused me to stock up on components. It also caused me to pay way too much for these components. FOMO (fear of missing out) is a real issue for me.
I had to find that out the hard way, I keep my powder in a cabinet inside where the temp is always the same. I also write the dates on everything so I don’t accidentally use bad powder.
I started reloading a little over 4 years ago. The “buy cheap and stack deep” period of time was many years prior. I struggled to find certain primers, LRM specifically. When I found them they were outrageous in price. I whined and moaned, but left with a brick of Federal GM215M and a depleted wallet.
