My recent experience running a red dot

I’ve been messing around with a red dot lately and it really does speed things up. Once I stopped chasing the dot like a confused cat, everything clicked. Honestly wish I’d tried one sooner.

I put one on my SIG P226 - game changer for me!
I liked it so well that I put one on my Henry Big Boy. I will be testing it today or tomorrow.
Thinking about adding one to my Springfield XDM.

Red dots make aiming faster and easier after a little practice.

My first red dot was a cheap one I picked up to try on a Ruger 22LR pistol. After some adjustment I started to really like it. I put it on a SW500 and it only survived one 5 round volley. I picked up a Leupold Delta Point Pro recently and mounted it on my HK45. I’ve not really put it through significant testing yet, but I really like it so far. It allows me to practice aiming and eye discipline without firing a round.

I have an Aimpoint Pro Patrol Rifle Optic on my SA Saint, works very well. It gets swapped back and forth to a Saint pistol I have when I carry it with me in the SxS. I zeroed it at 75 yards based on the intended use of the rifle.

I've also got a Burris Fastfire III on my Ruger 22/45 Lite.

In a November post from me about adding a Red Dot to my Henry 44 Mag. I have very positive results from today’s trial run. After only bore sighting it, I was hitting my target easily. A few others shot the rifle with almost identical results. Wish I had made the switch a long time ago. Looks a little odd on top of a lever action, but it is fun to shoot.
