I know from a bunch of the posts that a lot of our members love to hunt...I don't hunt anymore, I used to hunt and always loved it...now my hearing is so shot, and has been for over 50 years now, that I can't hunt. I won't hear the animal unless it's a klutz, and if I do hear it I really can't really pinpoint from which direction the sound is actually coming from. 😊

I have hearing aides, which is really don't wear anymore, but it wouldn't help as I still need hearing protection from the rifle...unmuffled gunfire is what got me to where I am anyway! 😂

So, enjoy the hunts guys...sitting on the sidelines sucks... 👍

Tough break, but at least you get the safe sidelines view with less noise, more storytelling and zero missed shots.

The place I hunt the most for deer is out of a blind that my sons and I built over looking the power lines that are on our property so hearing isn’t the issue but glassing for hours my kids and grandkids wear earbuds and listen to music while hunting most of the time. This isn’t the way I started hunting deer we didn’t have enough clothes to stay warm much less have a blind with a roof and a propane heater to stay warm the big problem I have is staying awake long enough to see a deer, I turn my phone to mute except for emergency’s it makes for a pretty pleasant day

A few years ago, while at the shooting range I unplugged my left ear so I understand the person I was talking to. The person on the bench who was adjusting his scope loaded his 308 and discharged it without warning. Since then all I hear in my left ear is a constant ringing noise. It has affected my hunting, but I still go. I ask my wife to sit on my right side when I want to hear what she has to say, like in a restaurant. I hate it for anyone who has this condition in both ears. I tell everyone to protect your hearing and the hearing of others. I always announce my intentions to discharge a fire arm before hand.

I'm 86. My hearing is still OK (kinda)..but I wear hearing aides in a crowd. I've always wondered if the BONE Conducting hearing aides would help after the regular hearing was gone. I looked up this one on Amazon only because it had a high number of good reports. Since Amazon allows easy returns..it might be worth a try.
