Brush guns for thick cover

Hunting thick cover lately got me thinking about brush guns. My longer rifle feels clumsy in tight spots and it made me miss shots...so now, I'm all about shorter and quicker setups, what brush gun can I use in the thick cover?

Just about any lever action rifle will do nicely in brush. In fact if there were a statistic out there, Id place a small wager that - here in the South - more deer have been harvested with a 30-30 lever action rifle. If its not in the top three or four, Id place a second wager that its in the top ten. Don't get me wrong, I love my bolt action rifle for making a long shot, but more often than not , I'm in dense brush with a muzzle loader or a lever action. When you purchase your brush gun, please let us know what direction you went. Id like to hear about it.

A lever action or a light bolt gun with an 18-inch barrel is the way to go.

I started using a short lever carbine when I'm in heavy woods and it's easier to maneuver.

.30-30 lever action is my go-to brush gun, you just cannot beat how fast it cycles and how it handles in the dense woods down South
