Hardwood ridges have been producing good deer activity lately. I'm focusing on acorn-heavy areas and natural funnels along the ridge lines. Wind direction seems critical up there. What's everyone's preferred setup? High on the ridge or targeting transition zones

I tried setting up high on a ridge once and I thought I had the perfect spot till a squirrel nearly made me fall out of my stand. You would take it funny until it happens to you..now I stick to transition zones, less wind, fewer heckling squirrels

Haha, I can imagine that, those squirrels can be brutal. I might stick with transition zones too, it seems like a good balance between cover, wind control, and sanity
