Shooting drills that actually boost accuracy

I've been working on my shooting lately and found a few drills that really help - slow-fire precision at different distances, dry-fire trigger control, and timed magazine drills. They've made a noticeable difference at the range. What drills do you all use to sharpen your aim?

I use a PCP pellet rifle for precision training. Anything you do wrong is magnified. I can shoot indoors and train year-round. 10m shooting at a tiny dot makes you concentrate on your pre-shot routine. Once ingrained, correctly, muscle memory is a big help.

The most effective tactic for improving my rifle shooting is unsupported off-hand shooting with a surprisingly accurate Savage bolt action 22LR. It's not very sexy because your precision suffers (groups open up) but it forces you to notice the things that affect your accuracy & then take steps to improve. Too much caffeine - you'll see it as the scope bounces; Poor ocular alignment - you'll feel it as you strain to fix the eye box shadow; Poor form - your muscles will tell you where you're straining; Poor trigger control - you'll see the trigger drive the shot. All of this and more for pennies per shot.

Nice tip, pellet rifles expose faults fast. I'll try 10m dot sessions and a steady pre-shot routine

Great point, unsupported off-hand reveals flaws fast, how often do you practice this drill?

Nice work, those drills really pay off. I run controlled pairs at 25 yards, dot drills for sight focus, slow-fire with different positions, and timed magazine strings
