Worst gun advice you’ve ever heard

I’ve heard some pretty questionable gun advice over the years, and a few lines still make me shake my head. What’s the worst piece of advice you’ve ever heard someone give about firearms?

Most of the bad advice has come from the anti-gun groups. Marketers are usually fairly harmless with the exception of needlessly emptying your wallet. Hype over the newest cartridge has led many to think they need to get rid of perfectly serviceable cartridges so they join can the cool crowd.

Staying with the tried and true .270 WIN. for long shots and good old lever-action rifles for brush.

That alliant 2400 powder is what you need for that 243win. It almost got me killed, to this day I still won’t take loading recipes from hardly anyone and I do still check them out and start a little lower just to be safe

Trends come and go, but a well-chosen, well-used cartridge will outlast every fad

You bet I was very young and had seen this guy in the gunshot several times but lessons learned from the school of hard knocks aren’t soon forgotten
